Experience

The senior members of our team previously held high level positions in the "Big 4". We are experienced at handling complex UK and international businesses.

In turn they are assisted by a group of tax specialist caseworkers. All our staff are qualified accountants.

As well as offering specialists in corporate and international tax the team also includes a group specialising in VAT, headed up by Peter Gladdish. Peter previously worked for Ernst & Young and originally trained in Customs & Excise.  

How we work

Our approach is to work hand-in-hand with the client rather than provide a service from a distance. Thus we are always available 24/7/365 for advice.

Consultation may be by phone, email or in person.
We will attend your premises in preference to remote working as experience tells us the former is usually more effective.

Manoj Synghal joins our private clients practice from KPMG

We have a new addition to our team at Hopkins Consulting. Manoj Synghal joined on 5th July and will be looking after the Personal Tax work. He recently worked at KPMG where he obtained the CTA Tax qualification in addition to being a Chartered Accountant ACA. He has previously given advice to entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals on areas such as Capital Gains Tax planning, Trusts and Non-Residence Tax Planning including the new remittance basis charge.

As tax law is ever-changing Manoj is keen to keep his clients up to date with new developments and tax planning opportunities.

Simon Hopkins

Simon is the CEO and founder of Hopkins Consulting. Simon heads up the Tax Advisory function.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Prior to setting up the consultancy Simon had worked for over 10 years with Ernst & Young, one of the largest tax consultancies in the world. His experience ranged from UK entrepreneurial businesses to multi-national corporations including Coca-Cola, Heron Property, Greycoat Estates, Harley-Davidson, Unisys, Inchcape, Times Mirror, Norwich Union, GB Airways, Caterpillar Shoes, DKNY.

Simon prefers providing his clients with practical advice over technical detail.

Barton is Director of Tax Compliance, and co-owner of Hopkins Consulting. 

Previously Barton oversaw the Industrial and Commerce Office Tax group at Ernst & Young in London.  

He is a trained accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Barton was the lead adviser on international clients including United Biscuits, National Express, Coca-Cola Schweppes Beverages, Renault, Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Eurostar, Daimler-Benz, Siemens and lastminute.com.

Barton is only satisfied when his team deliver an efficient, pragmatic and technology based compliance service.
